Original Penguin

On a sales trip to New York City in 1955, Abbot Pederson, after spending some time in a local bar  killing time before his flight home, stumbled out and took a wrong turn that led him to a taxidermist shop shop selling stuffed Penguins.  A few dollars later Pete the Penguin was acquired. On his flight home after several cocktails Abbot managed to knock Pete's head off, not daunted he secured it back in place using his tie. An Original Penguin was born. Throughout the 50’s the golf shirt adorned with the Penguin sporting a tie was worn by movie stars, singers and politicians.
